Tomatoes – round two

I replanted tomatoes last week. The February batch is doing great, but I’m afraid I started them about two weeks too early. We will see. Maybe we will have an early spring, and I can get them in the garden. I’m also trying out the “wall o water” teepees again this year. They seemed to provide the plants with enough protection to go in a couple of weeks early.
For now, I have a grow light, and I’m not fertilizing at all. More to come
Olive Garden Alfredo Sauce

This is a great version of an Olive Garden like Alfredo Sauce. Lots of calories, but enjoy.
Ingredients:
1 pint heavy (whipping) cream
1 stick butter
2 tablespoons cream cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon minced garlic
Cooking Directions:
In a saucepan combine butter, cream, and cream cheese. Simmer until everything melted. Add the Parmesan and garlic. Simmer for 15 minutes. Season to taste. Replace cream with 1/2 n 1/2 to lighten it up.

In light of the present financial crisis, it’s interesting to read what Thomas Jefferson said in 1802:

Gardening News - Tomatoes are up. I did not have time to take a picture this AM. Time to break out the green house lamp and a fan. More to come on this subject

I finished planting my tomato seed today. I have placed the seed trays on a seed mat, and have set the temp. to 80 degrees. Now it is just wait and see.
